SA COTXERIA

At Sa Cotxeria, we believe that swing is much more than music or dance. It is a culture born within African American communities, bringing together music, dance, history and a way of connecting with others through improvisation, creativity and human connection. Since 2017, we have been dedicated to promoting, preserving and keeping swing culture alive in Mallorca.

Our activities revolve around regular Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz classes, themed classes, social dances, international workshops and other activities that offer a broad introduction to this culture. Alongside its most iconic dances, we also explore other disciplines that help us understand their influences, evolution and the social and historical context in which they developed. We believe that learning to dance also means discovering and appreciating the cultural legacy from which swing emerged.

Above all, Sa Cotxeria is a community. We love seeing people arrive without knowing anyone and leave having made new friends, sharing the dance floor, a vermouth, a board game or simply finding another excuse to spend time together. We want everyone who joins our association to find a place where they can learn, take part and feel welcome, regardless of their experience or whether it is their very first encounter with swing.
